Answers to Your Key Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About The Struggle

  • What is The Struggle?

The Struggle is an endurance event designed to test participants physically, mentally, and emotionally. Through team-based challenges, heavy carries, and leadership rotations, participants confront the reality that life is full of struggle—and discover how to endure, grow, and lead through it.

  • Who can participate?

Anyone over the age of 18 who is willing to push themselves and work as part of a team can sign up. You don’t need to be an elite athlete, but you should come prepared to work hard, carry weight, and support others. Your fitness, grit, and willingness to serve will all be tested.

  • How long is the event and what should I expect?

Each Struggle event typically lasts between 8–12 hours, depending on the location and cadre. Expect rucking, team carries, workouts, leadership rotations, and mental challenges. The event is demanding, but the focus is on finishing as a team—not leaving anyone behind.

  • What gear do I need to bring?

Participants are required to bring a ruck (backpack), water, gloves, and a headlamp, along with a gear list provided in advance. Some events require sandbags, weight plates, or additional items. Full details will be included with your registration packet.

  • Why is it called The Struggle?

Because struggle is universal. Everyone faces it—whether in faith, family, work, or community. This event is a physical representation of the battles we fight every day. By embracing the struggle together, we learn perseverance, leadership, and brotherhood.

  • What happens if I can’t finish?

The goal isn’t individual completion—it’s team success. If you show up willing to push yourself and your brothers forward, you won’t be left behind. The cadre will challenge you, but they’ll also guide you. The only way to fail is to quit.

  • I have more questions

We're sure you do. Part of The Struggle is being will to show up and put in the work regardless. Life doesn't always give you all the answers ahead of time but that has no impact on how you show up ready to see it through, whatever the struggle.
